Happy Father's Day

I planned ahead this year and finished a few Father's Day cards early. I love stamps with tools - they are great for the men in my family. The below cards use 2 great stamp sets: Tool Shed (#123688) for the background and Totally Tool (#113256) for the tools I cut out. Totally Tool is retiring so you only have 4 more days to buy it! Tool Shed is in the new catalog.

The below card is for Grandpa - 'Pop' in our household.

Both cards are finished off with Bakers Twine and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes (#115370). I colored the tools with Stampin' Up! markers. Below is a picture of all the stamps in Totally Tool - retiring this week.

Summer Smooches

Today's card was made with the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper (#125409). I love the bright colors in this design. I added texture to the Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo cardstock with the Square Lattice Textured Impression Folder (#119976).

The Decorative Label punch was used for the sentiment along with new ribbon - Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon - which will be available on June 1st in the 2012-2013 catalog.

The Open Sea

I am so excited that The Open Sea stamp set will be in the 2012-13 catalog. I loved this set when it appeared in the Summer mini last year - and now it's back. This stamp is great for masculine cards. I used stamps from this set for both the background image on the crumb cake card stock and the globe on the new In Color Midnight Muse card stock. I LOVE the new In Color Midnight Muse - it's such a nice blue.

I used clear embossing powder for the globes and added a layer of Real Red cardstock underneath. The sentiment is from Party this Way (wood mount #118744; clear mount #120609) which retires at the end of May.

More New Colors...

Today's card features more new In Colors - Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals. I used the Flower Fest stamp set for the background (this set is retiring, order it before May 31st if you want it in your collection).

The cardstock and sponged ink around the sentiment are in the new In Color Primrose Petals and the flowers and sentiment were stamped in Raspberry Ripple ink. I used the Scallop Dots Ribbon in black - it will still be available in the new catalog in 10 colors).

Happy Mother's Day

I had a chance to play with the new In Colors this weekend - new colors are so much fun. Today's card uses Summer Starfruit ink (2012-14 In Color) as the background color. I first cut the paper with Adorning Accents Edgelit (#125595) on both sides. Then I embossed an image from the My Friend stamp set (wood mount #122858; clear mount #122587) with white embossing powder. I applied Summer Starfruit ink with a sponge which created a nice effect.

The card was finished off with Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247). The string of small pearls comes connected on the sheet so they are really easy to place. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used the Decorative Label punch twice - once with black cardstock underneath as a shadow and then the top piece was popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.
